Finding your perfect mate doesn’t seem as easy as it did decades ago. There is no longer the boy or girl next door story that sparks a fairy tale romance. Dating nowadays seems harder and more complicated than ever before and that makes finding a mate like finding a needle in a haystack. So where can you find an ideal mate in this day and age? The key is to look at places you are interested in. It’s about time you went to events where people with similar interests gather. Love will not often come looking for you. You will need to go looking, and finding your special someone is worth the search.

Blogging is Like Eating.

I say that because blogging is like eating a box of Pringles. Like what their ad says, “Once you pop, you cannot stop.” Blogging has taken over the world wide web as the most single effective tool of people, regardless of station, to communicate and let their voices be heard. A blog, which is a shortened term for web blog, is an online journal which can be used for multiple reasons – personal use, just an online log of activities, a photo journal, and lately, since we are right in the smack of political elections where I live, political blogs.

With that being said, while there are many free blogging services out there, getting cheap domain names and affordable dedicated hosting are incredulously easy, even for a non-techie geek like me. I can think of so many people who, for the longest time, have been trying to lose weight. I would like to call them people who are on a perpetual diet. I am one of those people. It came as a shock to hear about Oprah Winfrey’s announcement that her long standing show Oprah is coming to an end. Her show, spanning 25 seasons, have 6.8 million viewers, standing tall and above the rest among other talk shows. "Here is the real reason: I love this show. This show has been my life and I love it enough to know when its time to say goodbye," Winfrey said.

Not that Oprah Winfrey will be any less visible. It is expected that she will be opening a new show soon, under The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), and have more activities lined up for Harpo Productions – her multi-media outfit production company.

Oprah’s legendary sense of style and taste have clearly been seen in her show and her “O” magazine. It is no wonder that opening an Oprah store would come naturally. The Oprah Store, the official store of the Oprah Winfrey Show, houses 900 products that include souvenir items, loungewear, activewear, sleepwear, basics, O baby, and select South African arts and crafts.

It not surprising that is carries womens plus size clothing as Oprah herself has had to deal with plus-size issues all throughout her show. There are a lot of stuff on clearance that would make ideal Christmas gifts too.

Do not get misled though, that the store is only for women’s clothing. Things that Oprah loves are also there from blankets to umbrellas and baby stuff.

I have never been one to wear jewelry all the time. I prefer to only wear earrings, usually studs and my wedding ring everytime I go out. Sometimes, I just wear fashion earrings so that it will go well with my outfit for that day.

I know though that more than a fashion statement, jewelry is actually an investment in itself, especially gold. A day after Thanksgiving, most families are now putting up their Christmas trees up! It is officially the start of the holiday season for many families, as evidenced by the throng of people who lined up for Black Friday sales everywhere.

I didn’t shop that much at all yesterday. I just bought new bedroom linens and pillows for our beds and some kitchenware. I am hoping to hold out on after Christmas sales because I am eyeing to get great Christmas decoration deals – I have been longing to get a complete Christmas village set up in our house during the holidays.

WWW of the Week: Apartment Therapy

I have been obsessed with home interior decorating lately – blame it on the ongoing plans to decorate the house for Christmas. I am obsessed on how to effectively place and plan furniture and stuff so that the flow of household chores isn’t dampened (I am the maid of the house), that space is maximized (I am the mommy of the house of two kids who are in different age groups), and that the house still looks pretty and lived in (I am the Queen of the house!).

My favorite room to look for aside from the bedrooms is the kitchen. I explore kitchen floor plans and I obsess how kitchen workflow must be so that kitchen appliances are efficiently places around – even the correct positioning of an American Standard sink!

Owning a car isn’t necessarily a luxury these days for me. We need a car. We live in the middle of nowhere and we need to have a smart car to drive us around. It also isn’t good that public transportation stops at 8PM so if ever there will be an emergency, we are going to be stuck with nowhere to go.

Whether you want a kia, or an iconic ford mustang, or the environmentally-friendly toyota prius, you can find competitive reviews and feedback at The Car Connection. They run classified ads and financing plans alongside photos, tips, reviews and the latest news on cars.

For example, Ford has come out with the 2010 Ford Mustang and they have already done a drive test on it. The Toyota Prius, however, is likely more expensive. The government though is taking measures to get tax refunds for those who would invest on this environmental-friendly vehicle and it is worth a shot. Besides the exceptionally fuel economy, it has a tall, airy cabin, a hatchback utility and an improved driving feel. It is more upscale effort in general.

I discovered Kurt when I was blogging in LJ before. I was heartbroken,  struggling and ideally in love with the idea of love so his work drew me in – like a moth to a flame. I love his work, the idea they represent and the nostalgic feeling of love. When you see his work, a few lines, his signature drawings, will just make you go, “Awwwww.” I cannot show you his work as it is on Flash but I strongly encourage you to look through them and feel your heart go *pitter* *patter*.
