iPhone App: Smurfs Village

I haven’t donned a nurse uniform in years but I’ve been wearing my best Smurfy hat ever since my daughter and I started playing the Smurf’s Village app together.

Smurfs village

Smurfs’ Village is a free social game for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad where players must help our blue buddies rebuild their home after Gargamel discovers it and scatters the Smurfs throughout the forest. The game features popular Smurfs like Brainy Smurf, Papa Smurf, and Smurfette. What is the player’s objective? Make the new Smurf Village better than the last.

While the app seems inspired by games like Farmville, Smurfs Village stands out because the gameplay offers more than just simple, mindless clicking. Entertaining mini-games litter the village, offering simple but varied fun. You’ll quickly learn there is more to Smurf culture than blue skin and farming.

The last time I got addicted to playing games like this was when I was hooked in Cafe World (Facebook). And yes, I even pay for Smurfberries (though I have stopped already). We are now on level 22 and hopefully I can arrange our village. It’s hard to decorate it when I am stuck with a small screen (iPhone) and I have big fingers.

iPhone Apps: Viber and WhatsApp

If you have relatives and friends overseas you would like to catch up with everyday but dread the fees that go with it, try using Viber and WhatApp – apps available in your iPhones. You can text and call for free, as long as there is internet connection. It is like using Skype but more convenient since you do not have to have it opened all the time. I use it send well wishes and keep in touch with cousins and friends and even have a good friend shop for me, like buying a fireplace mantel on sale!

iPhone Apps: iPhoneography Tools

The iPhone (or any smartphone) has become an indispensable tool in today’s world. From watching movies, listening to music, reading books, taking photos, entertaining with games, utilities, navigation tools and even for conference call services.

One of the things I am so into right now is taking pictures with my iPhone and putting it in another level. I love that I have friends who know so much about iPhone apps that I just learn what to get from them :)

Here are the apps I just downloaded:

iPhone App: Momento

momento iphone app

I have been looking for a better way to suck in selected Twitter updates, Flickr photos, Instagr.am photos and Facebook statuses in a more comprehensive (and hassle-free) way than to have to track them down everyday and collate them myself. I was reading on some Moen faucets when a fellow scrapbooker tweeted a great article about a mother who first got involved into scrapbooking by doing Project 365 and not the other way around. While taking photos from everyday life, she needed a way to bring everything together and she discovered Momento!

Take a look at its features:
Connect Momento with popular web services to fill your diary with your online activity. In minutes Momento can build a record of each day, using the information and media you have shared online. A fast, effective and effortless way to record your life.

iPhone App: Labelbox Photography

You should take advantage of this app – as it is FREE for a limited time only.

I haven’t taken photos using my point and shoot camera for a while now, thanks to the portability of my iPhone’s camera. This one should add more fun things to do with iPhone pictures.

Here’s how the “labels” look like:

Hi! My name is Jane and I’m married to Joe.

The only form of exercise I get everyday is when I surf the virtual waves on the web and the only muscles I have in my body are at the fingertips.

I write all I can find on the web when I surf while sipping my coffee.

PS. And I love joining memes too.
