I am not much of a gamer. I was not interested in playing games on the Nintendo when I was a kid, though I played Super Mario. We currently have XBox Kinect and I just play Dance Central.

When Facebook boomed, I was one of those who played their numerous applications. However, I only stuck to one – Cafe World. I would spend countless hours scheduling chores around the time dishes were cooked so none of them can go to waste. I also spent so much time rearranging my cafe too.
I tried playing slot machine games online since I learned how to play them in real life when I joined my cousins in a casino once. Since I didn’t know how to play card games, I feasted on slot machines instead.
Now that I have my iPhone to keep me company, I stick to games I have been playing forever namely word games like Text Twist and Bookworm. I also have Bejeweled Blitz and Fruit Ninja. I am mostly obsessed with Smurfs though. This is the only online game I spent money on, and I’ve been playing for more than a year now!
What online games do you like to play?
I am not really a gamer. I have few game apps on my phone and I primarily play them when I am bored to death waiting at the doctor’s clinic or during the long commute to the city when I don’t want to read a book. I also have this habit of sticking to one game for a long period of time before trying out a new one. Hence, I am also late with the latest game apps out there. My husband, on the other hand, is a huge gamer. He likes to play simulation games – Clash of the Titans, Merlin, etc. – and even plays poker online and does the occasional bingo at Party Bingo.com. He grew up playing bingo as a kid because it is a staple during family reunions and major holidays. You can try to say it has never left him so if he doesn’t have anyone to play with, he plays by himself, online!
Here are some of the games I play:
1. Temple Run. It has been months since I last played this game but there was a time, along with millions of others, where I would not sleep because of this game. The highest I ever got to was 4M+. And I have never gotten higher than that since.
2. Bookworm. This is my first love. I played this for years and nothing else. I am more into letters than numbers as you can see.
3. Text Twist. I play this with my son and we try to outscore each other all the time.
4. Bejeweled Blitz. This is what I am obsessed with lately. I play the action mode.
5. Fruit Ninja. I played this straight for about two months. And then I stopped because after I reached all the high scores there was nothing left to play for.
Any recommendations you can give me?
My kids love music. Thanks to Avid Technology and XBox, we can now dance without having to be pressured to know the dance steps, because with Dance Central, we just follow steps and “dance”. My eldest loves to play with the game and my daughter, who is still too short to be seen by the sensor, follows in the background.
We have Dance Central 2 and so far we have unlocked the different dance crews.
As a social activity, poker is hard to beat. Getting a group of friends to a home game provides many opportunities for friendly chat, social banter and just to hang out for an evening. That is why the phrase “poker night” with friends have become popular. .
Here are some ways to make it even more enjoyable:
1. Serve great food, especially snacks.
There’s nothing better than playing poker with beers, sodas and a selection of pizzas, or whatever food your group prefers. Great food can make all the difference to an entertaining evening. There’s no need to splurge when buying food. Frozen pizzas, heated in the oven, along with a selection of breads and chips can be just as tasty as those delivered from the store – at a fraction of the price.
2. Invest on good poker equipment.
You need at least these three items to be able to hold a game of poker: playing cards, a poker table and chips.
A decent set of playing cards is easier to shuffle and less susceptible to getting damaged. In fact, it’s always worth having a set in reserve. When it comes to poker tables, they add the right atmosphere and provide the felt to hold the cards in place and stop them sliding. Finally, a set of poker chips is much more convenient than shifting around cash and saves all kinds of questions of the type “how much are you playing with?”. Chips are always easier to glance at than cash. It also gives one the feeling of playing the “real” thing like in a casino.
What do you do though when you are left alone at home and there are no friends to play poker with? There are online casinos that can help you be entertained!
While I ponder what to do with my blackheads on nose (should I just let them be or have a facial already?) I need games recommendations from all of you.
I do not play that much. I am pretty loyal to Bejewelled Blitz. But I have kids who need to be entertained.
So far I have downloaded Bop It, Egg vs Chicken and Angry Birds Rio. I also think Kids Company Mouth is promising.
Have you heard of Microsoft’s answer to Nintendo’s Wii? Look at the new addition to the xBox 360 system, the Microsoft Kinect.
You are the controller. No gadgets, no gizmos, just you!
Kinect brings games and entertainment to life in extraordinary new ways without using a controller. Imagine controlling movies and music with the wave of a hand or the sound of your voice. With Kinect, technology evaporates, letting the natural magic in all of us shine.
And they are doing a great sales job because the news state that it is the fastest selling gadget in history, beating the Apple iPad and Nintendo Wii console.
Microsoft Xbox 360 Kinect sales has surprised the world of gaming, with the latest figures suggesting the sales rates of the Kinect have now surpassed that of the Apple iPad and Nintendo Wii console. Microsoft’s goal for the end of the year is 5 million units, after selling 2.5 million units in 25 days we would say they are well on there way.
There has been large advertising campaigns globally and it would seem that this console accessory has attracted even the casual gamer with its cutting-edge technology, allowing players to use their own body as a controller without wires or a conventional hand-held controller. A vast number of people have taken a liking for the Kinect, likely to be due to the unique and revolutionary gaming experience that it provides, as well as the additional cool features such as voice control.
As Neowin rightly put it:
According to Readwriteweb.com, Microsoft sold 2.5 million Kinect’s in the first 25 days which means they are averaging 100,000 units a day. At this rate, Microsoft has taken the title of fastest selling gadget in history from Apple as it is selling twice as fast as the iPad.
Online poker players know what rakeback is and most only uses poker websites that offer poker rakeback deals.
