Paper Goods Must Have

I have downloaded the PDF version of this lovely notepad from the Leo on the Loose blog before but they are now on sale at Etsy, and somebody please buy me one! I am actually thinking if I should just order it.  I am a list-maker, and even if I am a clutterer and a mess maker, I find peace whenever I list things down, like buying a glass mosaic tile for example, even if I never accomplish everything on my list :)

All of these are linked by the way, just in case :)

Shopping for a Baby

It seems shopping for the baby is more enjoyable, convenient but more expensive than before. From baby furniture to breastfeeding equipment and accessories, bottles, carriers and clothes, there are just more choices, variety and stuff that makes you think you need it.

I am not baby expert nor a great one to ask for advice on spending and saving money, but I do know babies grow up fast, so I would rather not buy the adorable yet expensive outfit that a baby might wear for only three times before she outgrows them – babies grow fast! I would invest on on quality baby furniture like a baby crib that can be converted into a toddler bed. Not only should they stand the test of time and a baby’s destructive ways, it would be a smart move if they can last as long as you will be having babies so you do not need to buy every time.

You would need a crib, changing table, drawers and perhaps a rocking chair for you to rest and cuddle with the baby in her room.

You might also consider getting bassinets for your room or a busy place in the house where you might put the baby all the time while you are doing chores.

Pencil Cases

I have mentioned how I love pencils when doing lists. It goes without saying that I need to have a cute storage for them as well.

I love stripes and dots.

Wouldn’t this be cute though? I love the fabric!

Pencil Lover

I love doing lists and much more, I love doing list using a pencil. I am fickle-minded and it extends to doing lists so being able to erase lists while still maintaining it clean is high on my list. I really am not concerned at all if all I use are promotional pencils. Based from experience, they have the best lead in pencils. But I am happy when I get these cute little packages from Etsy from friends.

Who says I am not loved?

This gets special mention – I love the “Do the Write Thing” pencil:

The Effectiveness of a DreamBoard

A few friends have been talking about setting up a dreamboard for themselves this year. Many have been saying it has been quite effective in making “their dreams come true” – and it is something worth trying. Not even the best fat burner can help me lose weight – maybe a little more motivation and inspiration will help?
image

Setting goals is something we are all familiar with. In fact, it’s almost become a cliche that some people no longer pay attention to. Making a dream board can take the cliche out of setting your life goals, and can even help you to accomplish those goals.

  1. You can either gather use magazines or image websites. If you choose to use magazines, you should use different types, covering all the topics that you are interested in.

  2. Go through each magazine and cut out any random pictures that appeal to you. Allow your mind to wander and follow your instinct. Find bright, colorful images that make you feel fantastic or get you thinking about what life could be like if it were you in that picture. Try to minimize the words that you cut out.

  3. Purchase a magnetic board or a large blank painting canvas that is pre-strung on a timber frame and paper glue. These are inexpensive and available at a local art store. (A good size is 1m x 1.5m.)

  4. Cut out the pictures neatly and stick them on your board.

  5. Place the dream board beside your bed or in your office and look at it at least twice a day for about 5 minutes. Enjoy the images, enjoy your work and imagine yourself leading the life that is in your dream board.

  6. You will notice in the following 12 months that you are starting to achieve some of the dreams you have stuck on your board.

Some Thoughts for the Week

I noticed I have not been sharing as much thoughts to ponder images lately. I have been swamped with work and need to focus on finishing the clinislim review I need to submit by this week. I went to look at one of my favorite Tumblr sites and discovered she has been posting a lot (SO MANY!) of cute images lately so here are a few that caught my eye and gave my heart a little tug:

Everything Oprah

It came as a shock to hear about Oprah Winfrey’s announcement that her long standing show Oprah is coming to an end. Her show, spanning 25 seasons, have 6.8 million viewers, standing tall and above the rest among other talk shows. "Here is the real reason: I love this show. This show has been my life and I love it enough to know when its time to say goodbye," Winfrey said.

Not that Oprah Winfrey will be any less visible. It is expected that she will be opening a new show soon, under The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), and have more activities lined up for Harpo Productions – her multi-media outfit production company.

Oprah’s legendary sense of style and taste have clearly been seen in her show and her “O” magazine. It is no wonder that opening an Oprah store would come naturally. The Oprah Store, the official store of the Oprah Winfrey Show, houses 900 products that include souvenir items, loungewear, activewear, sleepwear, basics, O baby, and select South African arts and crafts.

It not surprising that is carries womens plus size clothing as Oprah herself has had to deal with plus-size issues all throughout her show. There are a lot of stuff on clearance that would make ideal Christmas gifts too.

Do not get misled though, that the store is only for women’s clothing. Things that Oprah loves are also there from blankets to umbrellas and baby stuff.

There are a lot of yoga clothing on sale, you might want to check them out too.

Apples of Gold Jewelry

I have never been one to wear jewelry all the time. I prefer to only wear earrings, usually studs and my wedding ring everytime I go out. Sometimes, I just wear fashion earrings so that it will go well with my outfit for that day.

I know though that more than a fashion statement, jewelry is actually an investment in itself, especially gold. They have never been known to depreciate in value ever since and their markey has always been liquid – you can sell it as easily as you bought it, because everyone wants to invest on a classic set.

My next jewelry purchase though would be one of those aquamarine rings from Apples of Gold Jewelry, specifically this one:

I Love the Vendo.

One very nice childhood memory I have was going to the mall every Sunday after mass to eat. After lunch, my Dad will give us a coin each so we can choose what to get from the candy vending machines. I would always choose to get bubblegum. If I am lucky, I would get the bubblegum in my favorite color – pink! I am amazed how simple things can make me happy back then.

Can you imagine all those candies? A friend will have her daughter’s first birthday soon and her theme is going to be CandyLand. Her invitations are even round candy vending mini versions. I can’t wait to get it! Vendstar offers you the best franchise business opportunity – that of candy vending machines. I discovered Kurt when I was blogging in LJ before. I was heartbroken,  struggling and ideally in love with the idea of love so his work drew me in – like a moth to a flame. I love his work, the idea they represent and the nostalgic feeling of love. When you see his work, a few lines, his signature drawings, will just make you go, “Awwwww.” I cannot show you his work as it is on Flash but I strongly encourage you to look through them and feel your heart go *pitter* *patter*.

Hi! My name is Jane and I’m married to Joe.

The only form of exercise I get everyday is when I surf the virtual waves on the web and the only muscles I have in my body are at the fingertips.

I write all I can find on the web when I surf while sipping my coffee.

PS. And I love joining memes too.
