Movie: 500 Days of Summer

Where have I been? Clearly, I belong in Loserville as I was only able to watch 500 Days of Summer yesterday.

Yes, yesterday.

And if you have watched it, I am sure you know this movie clearly belongs to my favorites. Since I love love stories.

Ooppps, as the narrator said:
“This is not a love story.
This is a story about love.”

I love how they kept it real, how love normally happens, how abruptly it goes, how hard it is to survive a broken heart, the grey lines between friends and ex-lovers, recovering and all of that. It is also a movie that doesn’t have a goodlooking guy, the type you imagine in movies, but hey, it works. Their chemistry works. And how nerdy and extremely attractive that your guy is the one responsible for writing all those good stuff in greeting cards (and address plaques)? I’d take that over an architect any time :)

And since I am cheezy like dut, one of my favorite scenes:

And now I understand why friends in LA post pictures like this:

I most definitely will be sitting on that bench, when the time comes.

Prince of Persia – The Movie

So this movie was shown way back in 2010 but I only got to truly watch and enjoy it last week. The story was nice, complete with moral values and stuff – without being too preachy nor mushy. And then I found out it was a Disney movie!

So that was why there wasn’t much skin nor kissing (I was expecting it to be a bit sensual given the time period of the movie). The setting, props and effects (even the white gold jewelry of the princess) were very detailed.

I find some cinematic scenes and its effects a bit unpolished, very un-Disney for me – when Jake was sucked into the sand dunes – that was a bit off. But this is a movie I can let the kids watch, and I am sure they will enjoy. After all, it IS Disney :) prince of persia
