I like personalized number plates. They’re fun, they’re delightful to look at, and most of them are certainly very entertaining. However, there are things that give me pause about getting personal number plates. Here are some of them.
They are more expensive.
Just as expected, these number plates cost significantly more than regular number plates. Since they are not randomly generated and because they bring more personality to your car, personalized plate numbers cost a few more bucks than the boring and ordinary plate numbers.
They attract a lot of attention.
In a sea of random letter-number combinations, recognizable terms and phrases really do stand out like sore thumbs. This is what happens to your car as a result of customized plate numbers. They become more easily recognizable so they inevitably attract more attention.
Although this is not exactly a bad thing for some people, there are others like me who do not really want any spotlight shone on their vehicles. I may enjoy some head turning action every once in a while, but I don’t consider that a necessity.
They’re a source of envy.
Because customized plates attract a lot of attention, it is not difficult to understand why some people would want to have theirs too. Although the uniqueness of the combination should make your plate easily recognizable and therefore harder to steal, it still doesn’t feel good to know that there are other people who are envious of you because of your plate numbers.
