What are your considerations for buying a printer?
In my case, there is only one – ink. I print a lot of stuff that everything else about the printer gets dwarfed, including its size, its, its brand, or even its additional features. I print several materials regularly, which is why I need to keep the cost down in terms of the toner refill and printer cartridges that I need.
It doesn’t matter much to me if it is capable of scanning pictures, photocopying documents, or even if it doubles as a fax machine. I don’t even care if it’s an Epson, a Canon, an HP, or a Brother printer. For as long as it can handle the printing jobs that I dish out without burying me in ink bills, then it’s good enough for me.
I have also considered the other types of printer but I figured ribbons and lasers are just too impractical for me. Compared to the usual inkjet printers, laser printers are good but a laser printer cartridge is just too pricey, especially since it won’t last that long with the amount of things that I need to print. Ribbon-type printers, on the other hand, may cost less in terms of the ink, but they don’t print fast enough to accommodate the work load.
What I need and what I usually buy, are printers that work fast and work with as little ink as possible.
