iPhone vs. iTouch vs. Kindle
So I have promised to rekindle my passion for reading. Before my addiction to the net came, I was such an avid reader – reading all the time, while eating, doing number two, in bed, in front of TV – I was such a bookwork. And I would read ANYTHING I can get my hands on, even those paparazzi magazine of Hollywood celebrities.
When I became a mother, acquiring the latest books out in stores got pushed back in the burner as I need to prioritize my kids’ needs. However, thanks to technology, I can now read books as much and as often as I like at a fraction of a cost – through e-books!
I have been secretly itching (and madly curious) about the Kindle but as friends have told me, you can get a similar Kindle app on the iPhone or iTouch. So, if I can avail of a payday loan, which one should I get?

Hi Jane,
I stumbled upon your blog and I find the things you write about really interesting. The iTouch is like an iPhone, only that you can’t call and send text messages. The iTouch is really dependent on WiFi for connectivity so if you’re not near any WiFi zone, you can just use your iTouch as a PDA – for notes, calendar, etc. and to listen to music and watch videos of course. You can download free apps and books on both iTouch and iPhone.
There are some that you need to pay for as well. The Kindle is more of an e-book reader, the size of a coupon bond (or similar). You need to buy e-books from Amazon (they are small microchips), insert it in your Kindle and whoala… you can read a collection of books already. In terms of ease of use for reading, you can also review the iPad – a ‘bigger’ iTouch with laptop capabilities (only that, you cannot multitask in the iPad). For me, it’s a toss between the iPad or the Kindle (Kindle came our earlier, so they might have more books in their selection) if you’re using them to read. Otherwise if it’s all about utility, I suggest you get the iPhone. But if you just need something for quick reads (on the train or during your free time), videos, music and apps… get the iTouch.
Just sharing my two cents.
