Places to Go in 2010

The Year of the Tiger is predicted to be a year of travelling and I cannot help but agree as I have so many friends travelling this year! I chanced upon this New York Times’ article about the top places you need to see this year while looking for KVM switches online.

I thought I’d share the top 10, the rest you can read about here.:

1. Sri Lanka
For a quarter century, Sri Lanka seems to have been plagued by misfortune, including a brutal civil war between the Sinhalese-dominated government and a separatist Tamil group. But the conflict finally ended last May, ushering in a more peaceful era for this teardrop-shaped island off India’s coast, rich in natural beauty and cultural splendors.

2. Patagonia Wine Country
Ten years ago, a group of adventurous winemakers set their sights on an Argentine valley called San Patricio del Chañar, an unusually fertile and eerily beautiful corner of Patagonia. They plowed, planted and waited. The outcome? A blossoming wine country with delicious pinot noirs and malbecs and smartly designed wineries.

3. Seoul (I knew I needed to see Gong Yoo!)
Forget Tokyo. Design aficionados are now heading to Seoul.

They have been drawn by the Korean capital’s glammed-up cafes and restaurants, immaculate art galleries and monumental fashion palaces like the sprawling outpost of Milan’s 10 Corso Como and the widely noted Ann Demeulemeester store — an avant-garde Chia Pet covered in vegetation.

4. Mysore
You’ve completed 200 hours of teacher training, mastered flying crow pose and even spent a week at yoga surf camp. What’s next? Yogis seeking transcontinental bliss head these days to Mysore, the City of Palaces, in southern India.

5. Copenhagen
As thousands of environmentalists heckled world leaders in Copenhagen last month for the climate summit, a solitary unifying note could be heard amid the cacophony of discord: the Danish capital has already emerged as one of the world’s greenest — and maybe coolest — cities.

When We Was Fab

Saturday 9: When We Was Fab

1. Is there a blog as far as its appearance goes that you think is the most fabulous?
Zen Habits. Minimal design. Rich content.

2. Do you like the look and the contents of your blogs?
Yes. So far. I try and keep up with updating them with quality content – I have 11.

3. Have you ever thought what would happen to your blog in case you died?
I have thought about it, but not as far as when I die. I want to print my blog into books per year. That would be fun to read through.

4. Has any particular blogger had a great impact on how you set up and write your blog?
Back when I was blogging in LiveJournal, I was greatly moved by woman called Nada O Nil’s entries. She spits fire but licks you with candy. Spunky sweet.

5. Would you want a fellow blogger to give you suggestions or criticism of what you write?
Yes, I love getting feedback. Readers are important for me.

6. Is the number of visitors each day to your blog important to you?
If it’s for a working blog, yes ( I even use free seo software for them). For my personal blog, I really don’t care.

7. What percentage of your readers do you think actual comment?
About 3%. I don’t mind. I don’t comment on blogs I read either (just telling the truth, do not spite me!)

8. Do you have a favorite blogger who does the memes that you participate in?
Harriet! She keeps commenting on every meme I join, she joins too – and her comments are really well-thought of. Thanks Harriet :)

9. How often do you update your blog/site and why?
Three to five times a day – because I cannot stop surfing and cannot stop sharing!

Have a great weekend!

Hi! My name is Jane and I’m married to Joe.

The only form of exercise I get everyday is when I surf the virtual waves on the web and the only muscles I have in my body are at the fingertips.

I write all I can find on the web when I surf while sipping my coffee.

PS. And I love joining memes too.
